I have a large collection of cutlery which I used for my Treehandle projects. I never thought I would make jewellery out of them, but a few years on and that is exactly what I am doing.
The ‘silver’ handled butter knives turned out to be a very thin layer of silver filled with pitch, which is a dark, viscous, sticky material used to give weight to the knife handles. The pitch was removed, leaving an incredibly light hollow ideal for earrings. They weigh almost nothing, so are wonderfully comfortable to wear.
Diamond beads hang from the bottom and sparkle as you move.
