An example of pareidolia, which means the illusory perception of meaningful or familiar images in random or amorphous objects. Think of clouds that look like dragons, the man in the moon, faces emerging from patterned wallpapers. In this case the agate appears to picture a plant and the flowers have a slightly geometric shape. The 24ct gold backing enhances the image. We have surrounded the setting with feathery leaves.
Oxidised silver;24ct gold leaf; picture agate.
