The bronze metal detected find started life as a medieval book clasp and has ended up as a hinged box lid. The green patina developed over the years it spent underground. The 24ct keum boo gold foil and the green bronze are a beautiful and poignant pairing.

The small size can be ascertained from seeing the box on the palm of the hand.
